El Ateneo, one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world

Recently the prestigious newspaper The Guardian made a list of the most beautiful bookstores in the world. Whithin that list the El Ateneo bookstore was in the third place. This library belongs to the local chain of bookstores El Ateneo and is undoubtedly beutiful. Since the year 2000 when El Ateneo decided to rent the old theater and decided to make a bookstore almost 3000 people per day visits it and has become a real attraction for tourists and locals in Buenos Aires. With more than 120,000 titles, a cafe in the former stage and access to the balconies of the theater to sit and read, this a place has become an important part of the city of Buenos Aires. The bookstore is located in the Santa Fe avenue, in the Barrio Norte district and it is very easy to reach, if you are staying downtown you can take the Subway (Subte) and take the D line from Carlos Pellegrini Station and get down in the Callao station, from you have a walk of three blocks. If prefer to walk from downtown it is not far, and you can also enjoy the walk trhough Santa Fe Avenue, the bookstore is located just 8 blocks from 9 de Julio Avenue.
